Sedna's Revenge

Haunt Comp 2025 Submission

I collaborated with designer Cristin Huffman to create Sedna’s Revenge, an immersive haunted maze inspired by mythological sea spirits, deep-sea horrors, and the consequences of humanity’s destruction of the ocean. Together, we built a rich narrative world—melding folklore, marine biology, and dark fantasy—brought to life through story, scenic design, and visual development.

As Co-Creator & Concept Developer, I helped shape the emotional spine of the maze through extensive research, storybuilding, and visual exploration. I translated our narrative into environmental design through layout planning, beat mapping, and a full SketchUp model that incorporated pathways, performer zones, safety egress, and technical requirements. I also developed visual assets across traditional and digital mediums, along with marketing concepts to support the maze’s identity.

Logline
When a vengeful Sea Witch unleashes an army of nightmarish sea creatures upon humanity, voyagers must choose: join her uprising or be dragged into the abyss.

Synopsis
After a string of unexplained disappearances at sea, guests respond to an SOS from the Driftwood Abyssal Institute, a government marine research facility. What begins as a rescue mission quickly descends into terror as they uncover the institute’s secret: grotesque marine warfare experiments that have escaped—and turned against their creators.

As guests navigate collapsing decks, shipwrecks, swirling currents, and spectral mythological beings, they encounter violent sea creature armies rising in rank from feral beasts to towering behemoths. They also witness the consequences of humanity’s impact on the ocean—pollution, suffering wildlife, and the haunting remains of those lost to the sea.

At the end of the maze, guests come face-to-face with Sedna, the Sea Witch and mother of the ocean, who has launched a rebellion against mankind’s greed. She offers a final choice: join her cause and become one with the sea, or sink with the rest of humanity.
In Sedna’s Revenge, the ultimate question echoes: who is the real monster of the deep?
