Memora

I took the Designing for Themed Entertainment and Experiences course by The Essential Art Department, taught by Justin Martin. Our final assignment was to design a cart, building based off of mood boards, story building sketches and 3D model iterations.

Throughout studying Speculative Design in college, we discussed a lot about where today’s climate is heading and where we’d see the world in years to come. My morbid mind imagined an inhabitable world, BUT there would be a paradise themed park to provide a beautiful haven for civilians and provide comfort in the idea of the afterlife! In this park, there will be carts titled Memora selling memories in orb form(video/photo ball frames). Inspired by the Christian notion that heaven is personalized, each cart is owned by a spirit, each with their own character, persona, backstory related to the design of their cart and how they perceive paradise. The cart I designed is one of the Memora carts in the chain which belongs to Willow, a kind-hearted spirit who loves nature and animals. Displays feature some of her adventures and memories in the orb products which she’d love to share more about if guests are curious! The cart is glamorous with Greek architecture and golden & crystal florals, sitting amongst the clouds.
